Skin Longevity Protocol

Skin Protocol for Longevity: My Routine for Healthy, Youthful Skin

When it comes to aging well, people usually pay much attention to the internal factors that are within our control: diet, how much exercise we get and how much sleep we have. But they rarely consider that skin longevity is also crucial for overall longevity. The skin is the largest organ of the body and serves as the first line of defense against the environment. A good skin longevity protocol can help to maintain elasticity, hydration and resilience of the skin for years.

I’ve spent years refining my own skin protocol for longevity, combining science-backed skincare, lifestyle habits, and targeted treatments to support healthy, youthful skin. Below, I’ll walk you through my routine and explain why these strategies work.

My Skin Longevity Routine

Mythos AntiAging

Morning & Evening: Mythos Women’s Anti-Aging Cream

Every morning and evening, I wash my face with CeraVe Hydrating cleanser before I apply Mythos Women’s Anti-Aging Cream, which contains copper peptides and Epidermal Growth Factors (EGF).
These ingredients help:
– Stimulate collagen and elastin production, improving skin firmness
– Support skin repair and cell regeneration
– Reduce fine lines and signs of aging
– Endocrine-safe (contains only natural ingredients)

You can buy Mythos Women’s Anti-Aging Cream here. Use code KAJSA for 10% off your order.

Studies show that copper peptides stimulate wound healing, boost antioxidant activity and improve skin elasticity. EGF, which stands for Epiderman Growth Factors, has been found to accelerate skin cell turnover and repair damage from UV exposure.

2-3 evenings per week, I also apply a Retinol cream overnight (and always wash it off in the morning!). Retinol is one of the most effective anti-aging ingredients, promoting cell renewal and increasing collagen production.

Red Light Therapy Panel at Home

Red Light Therapy (3x per week)

Three days a week, I do 15-minute red light therapy sessions. I have a small red light therapy panel at home which is very convenient. Red light therapy has been shown to:
– Stimulate collagen production
– Improve skin texture and elasticity
– Reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and inflammation
– Enhance wound healing and skin regeneration

You can read more about this in our Red Light Therapy Guide. A study published in The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology found that red light therapy significantly improves skin tone, elasticity, and collagen density over time. My recommendation is that you combine Red light therapy with Mythos Women’s Anti-Aging Cream, as copper peptides help enhance cellular repair!

If you don’t have a red light therapy panel yet, you can get yours at MVOLO.

Targeted Treatments: Microneedling & More

In addition to my daily routine, I get professional skin treatments now and again:

– Four times a year I do microneedling with exosomes. This helps stimulate collagen and improves my skin texture. Exosomes are tiny vesicles that enhance skin regeneration and reduce inflammation.
– I also do HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) which is a non-invasive skin-tightening treatment. This is a perfect option for those who don’t want to inject things like botox or fillers into their body.
– Finally I do IPL 1-2 times per year. This helps with pigmentation, fine lines, and overall skin renewal.

Did you know that there are studies that show that microneedling increases collagen production by up to 400%. This makes it one of the best treatments for long-term skin health and skin longevity.

Collagen Powder

Nutrition for Skin Longevity

What you put in your body is just as important as what you apply on your skin. My dietary principles for youthful, glowing skin are:
Collagen powder every morning – Supports skin elasticity and hydration.
Hydration (3-4L of water per day) – Helps maintain skin plumpness.
No added sugar or processed starch – Reduces glycation, which contributes to wrinkles.
Whole, unprocessed foods – Prioritize protein, healthy fats, and nutrient-rich foods like salmon, olive oil, berries, and dark leafy greens.

Collagen supplementation has been shown in clinical studies to increase skin hydration, improve elasticity, and reduce wrinkles within 12 weeks of daily use. So, if you want to start out easy, that’s one way to do it!

Sleep & Recovery: The Secret to Skin Rejuvenation

I prioritize at least 8 hours of quality sleep per night, which I track using my Oura Ring to monitor trends and adjust my habits. If you need help optimizing your sleep, I recommend checking out our comprehensive guide on this topic.

Why is sleep so important for skin longevity?
– Skin cells regenerate overnight which means, poor sleep speeds up aging
– Melatonin (our sleep hormone) is a powerful antioxidant that protects skin from oxidative damage
– Growth hormone is released during deep sleep, which stimulates skin repair

Research shows that chronic sleep deprivation accelerates skin aging, increases fine lines, and reduces the skin’s ability to recover from UV damage. So, it’s really important getting enough quality sleep if you want a glowing skin!

If you have trouble sleeping, you should try Sure Sleep by DoNotAge®. Use code KAJSA to get 10% off. This is a natural supplement that supports optimal sleep cycles.

Final Thoughts: Creating Your Own Skin Longevity Plan

Everyone’s skin is different so your longevity strategy should be tailored to you. Nevertheless, these foundational principles – using high-quality products to nourish your skin, supporting collagen production, using red light therapy, and focusing on sleep and nutrition – should be useful to anyone who wants to age gracefully and keep their skin looking healthy for life.
